As part of its mandate to protect public health, the Environmental Health Unit of the Sekyere Afram Plains District Assembly carried out a special inspection exercise in Drobonso.
The exercise, conducted as part of post -Christmas public health and consumer safety measures, resulted in the discovery and seizure of several expired food and cosmetic products from retail shops within the community. This action was taken to ensure that only safe, wholesome, and quality products are made available to the public.

During the inspection, Environmental Health Officers identified various expired items including beverages, canned foods, and body creams that had exceeded their expiry dates. These products were immediately removed from circulation to prevent public consumption and potential health risks. The affected traders were educated on proper stock management practices and the importance of regularly monitoring expiry dates to safeguard public health.

Consumers are strongly advised to check expiry dates, packaging integrity, and overall product quality before purchase, and to promptly report any suspected expired or unwholesome products to the District Assembly for necessary action.
The Sekyere Afram Plains District Assembly assures residents that routine monitoring and inspection exercises will continue across markets, shops, and sales outlets throughout the district to ensure public safety and environmental health compliance.
